Join us in making a difference!

Together, we can provide vital humanitarian support to the Dar Al Amal house in Marrakesh, which was tragically damaged during a powerful earthquake in Morocco. The AMAL association, with your help, has been a beacon of hope for cancer patients and their families in Marrakech through their patient house, “DAR AL AMAL” or House of Hope.

House of Hope: A Lifeline for Cancer Patients

On September 22nd, 2022, the AMAL association inaugurated the Dar Al Amal house, offering accommodation, nourishment, psychological support, and transportation to and from the hospital for countless cancer patients and caregivers. This facility is a lifeline for those battling cancer, particularly for those who live far from the hospital and face financial constraints that often force them to discontinue treatment.

Making a Real Impact

This project plays a pivotal role in the well-being and recovery of cancer patients. It lightens the financial burden of battling cancer, allowing patients and parents to stay strong together. In this supportive environment, they engage in activities, share their stories, and forge connections that are invaluable on their journey to recovery.

Changing Lives Globally

Patient houses like Dar Al Amal are more than just places to stay; they are transforming healthcare practices worldwide. They bring efficiency gains to healthcare systems and contribute to education and cancer prevention. By supporting this cause, you’re not only helping those in immediate need but also contributing to a global movement for better cancer care.

Your Support Matters

Dar Al Amal welcomes 30 beneficiaries every day, offering them free accommodation, transportation, psychological support, and a chance to rebuild their lives. Over the past year, they’ve made a significant impact on the lives of cancer patients and their families.

Bahija Gouimi

Biography of BAHIJA GOUIMI

BAHIJA GOUIMI from Morocco is a patient living with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) since 2002. She lives and works in Marrakech as a University teacher.

When she was diagnosed with Leukemia, she was pregnant and terrified of the new word “Leukemia”. At that time, her drug wasn’t available in Morocco, so she had to travel and bring it from Spain every month for three years.

After meeting her doctor, who became her best friend and mentor, she had a good prognostic since she succeeded to have the treatment. She found HOPE when her doctor recommended her to attend a patient seminar in France in order to learn more about how patients are involved to improve cancer patients care conditions around the world. After that, she decided to create AMAL association, which means hope in Arabic, to support other patients. She is also the co-founder of CML Life Africa, part of the Max Global Network, the collection of patient support associations focused on CML. She has also been a member of the CML Advocates Network Steering Committee.
